Dr. Lang’s Chinese Bilingual School

Pre-K Program

Curriculum

Dr. Lang’s Chinese Bilingual School Pre-K Program is a two-way immersion Chinese and English program for children 2 to 4 years old and of any nationalities. It is specially designed to stimulate, develop and exercise the young minds with linguistic, socio-emotional, cognitive, and aesthetic skills in two languages.

The Chinese Curriculum

The interest in learning to understand and speak Chinese is fostered in the early stage of Chinese learning and gradually guided to the written form of the language in the aspects of phoneme awareness, sound discrimination, whole word recognition and sentence utterances. Politeness expressions and arithmetic are also taught as an integral part of the journey to the future Chinese language education. Singing, chanting, recitation, story-telling, hands-on craft are among many other interactive methods that we employ to teach children of this young age.

The English Curriculum

The focus of the Pre-K English Program is to teach pre-school children to learn to read phonetically before they begin their formal school education. We adopt the main concepts and textbooks of the kindergarten curriculum of School of Tomorrow, Kindergarten with ACE and CHRISTI. With the Accelerated Christian Education (A.C.E) program, each child is given the Reading Readiness Test and the Coordination Development Tests before being placed into a reading program. These tests determine a child’s maturity level and basic motor skills as well as academic preparedness.
