We are going to quit!
That thought has gone through both, mine and Nancy’s mind.
“We just can’t go on any longer!”
These
are the human thoughts that have been prompted by the flesh, battling through
the temptation that the evil one is placing before us on almost an hourly basis.
When you have given your heart to the Lord Jesus Christ and told him that you
are dedicating everything to him, you just do not think, “EVERYTHING”
The
Song states – “Is your ALL on the alter of sacrifice, laid, is your heart in
the Spirit’s CONTROL”
God
wants it all! He doesn’t want us to take care of any part of our life, but we frail
humans think that we know what we are doing. We tend to say, “God has
impressed me with……….”, when we just want to do what we want. God said,
in Galatians 2:20, but please read the context of Galatians 2:16 – 3:14
“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but
Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the
faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” What part
of my life do I have for keeps, to do with what I want, if I am dead! I am
crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live, only with Christ living in me. In
Romans 6:11-13, the Apostle Paul states, by the Word of our Lord,
“Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin,
but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Let not sin therefore reign
in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither
yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield
yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as
instruments of righteousness unto God.”
We
are to be dead unto sin!
“……. Whatsoever is not of faith is sin!” Romans 14:23
“Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and
doeth it not, to him it is sin.”
“Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the
law: for sin is the
of the law.” 1 John 3:4
“Owe
no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth
another
hath fulfilled the law. For this, Thou shalt not commit
adultery,
Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou
shalt not bear
false
witness,
Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other
commandment,
it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely,
Thou
shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Love worketh no ill to his
neighbour:
therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.” Romans 13:8-10
“Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know
that no
murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. Hereby
perceive we the
love of God, because he laid down his life for us:
and we ought to lay
down our lives for the brethren. But whoso hath this
world's good,
and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his
bowels of
compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in
him? My little
children, let us not love in word, neither in
tongue; but in deed and in
truth. And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure
our hearts before him. For if our heart condemn us, God is greater
than our heart, and knoweth all things.
Beloved, if our heart
condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.
And
whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep
his
commandments, and do those things that are pleasing
in his sight.
And this is his commandment, That we should
believe on the name of
his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as
he gave us
commandment.
And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in
him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he
abideth in us, by the
Spirit which he hath given us.” I John 3:15-24
“All unrighteousness is sin…………..”
1 John 5:17
“But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit
sin, and are convinced of the
law as transgressors. For whosoever shall keep the
whole law, and yet offend
in one point, he is guilty of all.”
James 2:9-10
“The thought of foolishness is sin………….”
Proverbs 24:9
“An high look, and a proud heart, and the plowing
of the wicked, is sin.”
So,
“What is everything! What is it that Christ our Lord wants from us,
that is me personally or you personally? The same thing that He wanted from Adam
in the Garden of Eden, when He gave him everything on this earth. Obedience,
that is to say, “Love Me, keep my commandments”. “And the LORD God
commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely
eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat
of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.”
Genesis 2:16-17
God
requires obedience! A father of this sin sick world requires obedience from his children. A
person requires obedience from their pets. Our boss on the job requires
obedience in our work. We are made in the image of God and the way we live can
also be seen in the character of God. One thing that God can do that man cannot
do is to forget our sin. He said that He will not remember our sins. “I,
even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will
not remember thy sins.” Isaiah 43:25
We
look forward to the love that God has for us and provides for us through his
word. Our daily study of His Word is necessary to combat the evil of this world,
for without His daily strength given to us through His word, we fall, we hurt,
we regret, we complain, we love less, the people that we are here to reach. “But
God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even
when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by
grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit
together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:” Ephesians 2:4-6
What
a God we have that we can come to and plead our cause to Him and He direct us in
His word, or to some passage in a book that we may be reading, or to view a
video, by tape, on 3ABN or on cable TV, or have our mind impressed by a thought
that someone says to us within our daily lives. God may even use billboards,
church signs, the newspaper or wait until the Sabbath message, or while you are
teaching Sabbath school. It doesn’t matter to God, where, how, who or with
what means, the when is as soon as possible to attend unto your needs. Just
ask him!
So,
when we are not feasting daily with our Lord, through His Word, or we let some
obstacle that Satan places in our way, bring us down, then we get the feeling,
“We are going to Quit!” But then when Christ our Lord begins to work
in our hearts to come closer to Him, and His Word directs our life to the
fullness that is in Christ Jesus and that the Christian walk is an expression
that the world views as, Christ Living in us, Then we tell our Lord and Savior
Jesus Christ, “We are going to Quit!” While living in the world, get
closer to Him and work harder to reach the lost for Jesus Christ, just like we
are here in Atlanta, trying to reach the Chinese of Atlanta, Ga. for Jesus
Christ. Why?
Because
Christ died for them,
Because
God wants us to go into all the world, even here in Atlanta, Ga.
Because
we need the light of Christ to shine in the darkness of this part of the
world.
Because
we are doing what God has called us to do and that is to create friendships
among the Chinese people of Atlanta and present Jesus Christ in our personal
testimony.
Because
there is not a light shining from the Seventh Day Adventist church,
unto the
Chinese, here in Atlanta, Ga.
Because
the poor Chinese in Atlanta, Ga. feel that all they have to live for, is to
work the next day to make the living. The rich Chinese in Atlanta think that
they don’t need a God. – Just like Americans isn’t it!
You may also have the same feelings
that we have had! “I
am going to quit”, If so, go to God for cleansing, for
understanding and for direction in your life. Just remember that “you are not
your own, you are bought with a price, with the precious blood of Jesus
Christ.” Help God to help you! When you think that the world is tearing only
at you, be thankful that God has already won your small battle. When you think
that you are going to breakdown and lose it all, be thankful that Christ has
overcome the world. Please understand that Jesus Christ has won the Victory over
sin and this world. Filter your hurt through Jesus Christ and QUIT,
sin!
I
John 5:11-15 “And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life,
and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath
not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that
believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal
life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. And this is the
confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will,
he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that
we have the petitions that we desired of him.”
Please
review the direction that we are working toward as indicated below and remember,
“We are going to Quit, sin” so that we don’t QUIT on God,
and work toward the salvation of souls more than we have since we have been here
in Atlanta, that we may be close to God, “Looking for that blessed hope, and
the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave
himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto
himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. Titus 2:13-14
We
need your prayers and financial support to reach the Chinese people of Atlanta,
Ga.
We have English classes for the poor Chinese, located in the Chinatown area and the classes are just $5.00 per hour but this is still too much money for the majority of the people that we are trying to reach. The money that we do bring in for these classes just doesn’t meet the financial obligations that we face on a monthly basis. I have neglected to express the necessity of our financial need, but God has said in his word, “He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.”
We
need to be sowing good seed, so that we reap bountifully.
Luke
8:5-8
5
A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way
side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it.
6
And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered
away, because it lacked moisture.
7
And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked
it.
8
And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an
hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to
hear, let him hear.
Will your seed be sown:
a. By the way side or,
b. Among the rocks or,
c. Into the thorns, or
d. On good ground!
We
have been working with the Asian people here in Atlanta in many capacities and
we have made many friends from our church, a Korean Church, also from our
English and computer classes that we have had, and also from our radio program
that we once had, and from the newspaper articles that Nancy has written. We are
wanting to have some seminars and Bible studies beginning very soon so as to
build faith in the hearer of these messages so that God can establish a church
here in Atlanta, Ga. These seminars that we are now putting materials together
to provide, are as follows:
1.
Seminar
about Science …..with printed materials.
2.
Seminar
about Noah …..with printed materials.
3.
Seminar
about Nature …..with printed materials.
4.
Seminar
about Health …..with printed materials.
5.
Seminar
about Prophecy …..with printed materials.
6.
Seminar
about Education …..with printed materials.
7.
Also
Bible studies on Christ Centered Living …..with printed materials.
8.
Produce
small booklets about – Suffering, Science, Noah, Education, Christ’s object
lesson’s
9.
The
printing of Nancy’s translations: Bible Heroes, Guide’s Miracle Stories,
Sanctuary Made Simple and booklet about Education.
10.
Produce
audio and video of the seminars for loan, giveaway and purchase.
Obstacles
that we face are as follows: Financial Needs (FN)
1.
Needed
– A Bible Worker that understands English and Chinese – Kyle
Neuroh, a missionary to Taiwan through the 1000 Missionary Movement, that we
know personally and is from our home church in Knoxville, TN, has such a gift of
the language, and has expressed a desire to come and help us with the Chinese
work here in Atlanta when his contract is finished in the Taiwanese church. We
need funds to invite him here.
2.
We
need funds for printer ink, paper and the personnel to print out the
booklets. We do have a print shop that will do the work for us at a very
affordable price, in Nashville, TN, but we need the finances to pay for the
work.
3.
We
now have a need for a high resolution digital camera that can
download high quality photo’s directly to the computer, so that we can put
high quality photo’s into our booklets and website.
4.
We
have a need for a small audio production computer, software and
hardware studio, to develop the radio productions of our past
radio programs about:
A.
Creation
- One hour program in Mandarin with traditional Chinese music.
B.
Fall of
man - One hour program in Mandarin with traditional Chinese music.
C.
Christ
the Redeemer - One hour program in Mandarin with traditional Chinese music.
D.
The Flood
series - Three each, one hour programs in Mandarin with traditional Chinese
music.
E.
The
Sanctuary Made Simple series - Six each, one hour programs in Mandarin with
traditional Chinese music.
F. The Bible book of Matthew - Read in Mandarin Chinese
These, that we may give out to interested people,
sell to other vendors, etc.
** Adventist World Radio is very interested in having these audio programs.
5. We have a need to start transmitting again, with now, the only Chinese radio program in
Atlanta,
Ga. We need the funds to pay for this expense.
6.
We have
need for a Mini-disk player / recorder, a cassette player / recorder and also a
cassette reproducer, a CD player for the production of the computerized audio
streams to AWR and to others that go to our website.
7. We also have the need of meeting all of our financial obligations for the ministry as well as our own personal finances. We do have a small income from the English school but when we begin with the seminars, some of the classes will have to close or we will need additional people to help out in that area. ( We can get college students through the student mission office at Southern Adventist University, but we would have to pay their insurance and a small stipend. Again funding is a need.)
8. We have a need to start transmitting, with now, the only Chinese radio program in Atlanta, Ga.
9. Please pray for our health. Sometimes we do not eat properly and we keep very long hours with all that is being accomplished here.
10..
We have an immediate need that I will allow God to impress your heart with. May
God bless you.
I
do want to ask your forgiveness, as I have already ask God, for not allowing you
to know the height and breadth of what God is trying to do here in Atlanta, Ga.
and that He is going to do this work by the faith of the Christian that has given
his ALL to Him. I have not allowed you to be a blessing so that you may
receive a blessing. I also have not allowed you to receive the credit, to your
account in Heaven, for the souls that Christ will draw unto himself through the
gifts that you provide to the work of the Lord. . “Give, and it shall be given
unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over,
shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it
shall be measured to you again.” Luke 6:38
Thank
You for your prayers and financial support of this ministry to the Chinese in
Atlanta, Ga. Please read Malachi
3:6-18, but focus upon verse 16, “Then they that feared the LORD spake often
one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance
was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his
name.”
Thank
You
