Well, who is listening?

We go through our Christian walk day by day and ask that question!

“Have you ever wondered, WHO?”

Who is listening?

I know that you have asked yourself that question. God I have sold out to the cause of Christ and I have been faithful, but who is listening? The answer comes from God everyday and in sometimes unique ways. The real question is: "Are you listening!"

We have given some health lectures to some of our Chinese friends. You know the type of lectures! The what is good and what is bad for you, type of lectures with solid health principles, finished off with a juicing exhibition, to show them how to achieve a healthy immune system. There were many questions, and then is when I found out that at least the Chinese here in Atlanta, do not know much about health, but many of them are typically healthy by the mere fact that they eat vegetables. After our juicing exhibition one family bought a juicer, then they proceeded to juice every day. I mean everyday and always after they got home from working in a restaurant all day long.

We continued to watch the progress as they juiced everyday, this week being the fifth week. The concoction that they were drinking would make even the most healthful Adventist, puke (sorry for the graphic). But, they were faithful and understanding about their health and "believed" what I told them about the health principles, vitamins, minerals and nutrients that would make their immune system healthy. I would always make a comment about the lady's face clearing, she had some blemishes on the cheeks and around the eyes. I mean the blemishes were going away. She was becoming healthy!

When they started to juice they were a custom to eating a lot of meat and oil with very little vegetables in their diet, along with not much sleep, because of restlessness. Today when we talked to both of them in a lengthy conversation, their focus was on the juicing and what it had done to their life. Read the testimony below with this in mind, "Who is listening!"

The lady told Nancy that because of their juicing, just one 8 oz. glass of "mixed" juice per night, for the last five weeks (that's just 56 oz. of juice per week, per person), they have:

    1. Had more energy than they have ever had before. They use to sleep almost all day on their day off, but now they go for extended walks, instead.

    2. They do not have any more sickness, where before they had cold like symptoms all the time.

    3. They're not stressed out all the time like they use to be.

    4. They do not have as much desire to eat meat any more. As a mater of fact they tend to crave the juice!

What a testimony! Who has been listening? The Chinese couple! Us! You, maybe! What do these people have to say that we have been wanting to tell them? That God is right! He created the body to work properly on a proper diet. Just think what will happen to them when they realize that a plant based diet is more healthy than a meat based diet. Just think what will happen to them when we also tell them about the Creator God that made their body. God has a timing as he works with people and calling is his job! Being a good witness before men is our job! "Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:" 2 Corinthians 3:2

Who is being reached?

The apostle Paul said, "I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase." 1 Corinthians 3:6-7

We should not be so interested in "Who is being reached", but are we doing our part to show others Christ living in us. God says that His word will not return void but will accomplish that which it is sent to do. Not what we want it to do. Anyway, how could you possibly convert an atheist or a Buddhist, or another far eastern religion without the power of God. If we are a faithful witness and pray for our newly made friends, God will touch the heart of the hearer.

We have some students that have come to be close friends and our conversations always get to the "How do you live with such a small income". Then is when we can give God the glory. "We have come to Atlanta to serve the Chinese people of Atlanta, Ga. and God is faithful to supply that which we need at the time that we need it." God will always use the faith of those that are willing to be used, Amen!

Everyday we get an insight to the awesome power of the Almighty God. We frail humans try to do things on our own and God just sits back, laughs, and waits for us to say, "God, I am sorry for trying to do things on my own, I will get out of the way now and allow you to open the doors that you see fit to open and close doors that you want shut in my life"

Who is being reached? Everyone that we become a faithful witness too. We may not do what God is doing, but we are being there when God needs someone to provide that "certain something" in a certain person's life. Who have you reached today?

I recall two weeks ago, going to the bank and then home. I was just getting off of the interstate and a man was on the left side of the road with a sign, and leaning on the back of his car, with his wife inside the car. The said read, "Stranded, need gas, please help!" I had $210.00 in cash that I was taking to the bank when God spoke to my heart. "Give that person $20.00 for gas. Ask no questions." The light being green, I passed by and went on my way with a feeling of "These people need the $20.00." So, I turned around, parked on the bridge, walked down to the person and said, "here is $20.00, may God bless you". The man returned with, "God bless you sir." I then asked if I could take him to the gas station and he said no, someone had already taken his gas can to fill it up. I said, have a nice day, I turned around, went back to my car and went to the house. On the way home God filled my heart with such joy that I cried all the way home. God gave us this promise,"... saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts." Malichi 3:10-11 The next day two new students signed up for a month of English classes. Praise God! Who is being reached? Are you being reached by God to be used to be a blessing? Have you "presented your body a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God which is your reasonable service", so that you can reach someone?

Who will accept Christ as Savior and Lord?

We have found out that even though we have a special field of service to the Chinese of Atlanta, Ga., God has opened the door to many different peoples. We can only be a faithful witness to all that we come in contact with. God is not a respecter of persons but is willing that all should come to repentance.

When I read the four Gospels, I find that Jesus reached out to any that would listen, and to all that came to him with needs. He was always at the right place, at the right time, offering exactly what the people needed. We proved the love of God to the point where the people could only accept him as there Savior and Lord. Of course there were those that were used by Him as an example. Such as the rich young ruler! This example is below.

Matthew 19:16-23 "And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet? Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me. But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions. Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven."

Who will accept Christ as Savior and Lord? Will you? Will the Chinese of Atlanta, Ga.? Will your neighbor or my neighbor next door? It depends on if they see Jesus or not! Do they?

Who has been faithful to God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ?

I will leave that question for you to ponder. I would like to say that God has said in His Word, "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." Hebrews 11:6

The Marine Corp. boast of needing a few good men! Men and women join the Marine Corp. to die for their country, if and when necessary. God wants us to fill a similar position. God wants us to deny self! God wants us to trust him in all that we do. He wants us to be there when he needs us as we continue in our daily walk. "Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God. Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful." 1 Corinthians 4:1-2

When you think that no one is listening, God .........................

Brings people into your life as your witness to what you believe and also to what you are. Sometimes God gives us a reality check. He will send people into our lives that will tell us that they have been watching us, just to see if the religion that we purpose to be a part of is of any value. They say that they are almost persuaded to be a part of what we have. What a scary thought! God says, "Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men: Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart. And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward: Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life."2 Corinthians 3:2-6

So brothers and sisters, friends and other readers, when you think no one is listening, rest assured that they truly are listening. Listening to who you really are! God always called the people in the synagogues, hypocrites. That is, people who wore a mask. Outside the church or inside the church, we should all be the same person because people are listening. Is anyone listening to your life?

Take my life and let it be. Consecrated Lord to thee! Take my silver and my Gold, not a mite would I withhold! - From the song: "Take my life and let it be"
