There has been given to us, a list of things that are makers of those that would have the form of godliness, but "deny the power of God."
Who is to be found in this list?
When do the peoples in this list live?
What is the sign of the end of time?
Christ said that even in his time upon the earth the end was even at the door. Two thousand years later people live as if there is no end of time. Who are these people fooling?
God told Noah to build a boat that would save those that entered, after preaching 120 years that the end is near, only eight got on board the Ark. "As in the days of Noah, so shall the coming of the son of man be." Matthew 24:37-39
Taken from 2 Timothy 3:1-4:4; A list of makers of the end times people.
1. The last days will be perilous times. No other place in the Bible is the word "perilous" used. Encarta dictionary states: Perilous - very dangerous: involving exposure to very great danger. Any way you look at it, the end times will be bad!
2. People shall be lovers of their own selves! Think about that......
3. People will be covetous! People now want and want and want even when they can't afford to have.
4. People will be boasters! Encarta dictionary states: to praise yourself, or speak arrogantly about things you possess or have achieved. Just listen to people talk about themselves!
5. People will be very proud! You may recall that it was pride that got Lucifer cast out of heaven. The Bible teaches that the person that is prideful will not be in heaven. Think about it, if God allowed anyone in heaven that fit the descriptions of this text, He would have to apologize to Lucifer and allow him back into heaven. People are so prideful, even those that claim to know "Jesus as their personal Savior".
6. People will be blasphemers! The Bible states that a blasphemer is a person that makes themselves to be god. There are groups that claim that man, over a process of time, can be god. Think about that! God has placed his signature on all of creation. He has created something from nothing!
7. People will be disobedient to parents! The Asian people are quite new to the western mind of thinking and these people still very much so respect their parents. The western mind however will tell the parent what they are going to do, like it or not! Think about it! Even though we may have some good kids, they have become manipulative of the parents t their own selfish needs. Lucifer stated "I will" five times, in his heart about how to overthrow the heavenly host of Angles.
8. People will become unthankful! People are not thankful. They believe that the government owes them something. They believe that anyone that has, should give the them that have not. Encarta dictionary states: without feelings of gratitude.
9. People will be unholy! The Bible states that we are to be holy because God is Holy. The character of God is that He cannot tolerate SIN. Yet we as a people of God should not tolerate sin in our body on a continual basis. We explain it away by surely God......... (before we finish the statement.... that is blasphemy). We cannot begin to imagine what God would allow in our body. All unrighteousness is sin, so therefore if we find ourselves doing unrighteous things, we sin and God cannot tolerate sin, so we then become unholy. One man lived over 5000 years ago when the known world was "BAD", that was Enoch, and "He walked with God and God took him", Enoch was a holy man!
10. People will be without natural affection! Jude 10 refers to such a person as a "Brute Beast", then continues to say "Woe unto them for they have gone the way of Cain". Cain murdered his brother Able because God did not bless the offering that he, Cain, gave of his own hands. Selfishness is the definition of a multitude of sins. Natural affection is the love that God placed within our being to have for one another. We are now living in a time where a child growing in its mothers womb is worth only the amount of money required to abort it. God wants us to love one another!
11. People will be:
A. Trucebreakers - Breaking, a cessation of military hostilities that both sides agree to hold to
B. False Accusers - to charge somebody formally without having committed a crime
C. Incontinent - unrestrained and uncontrolled, primarily lacking restraint in sexual matters. - Today more and more young people are engaging in premarital sexual events.
D. Fierce - characterized by or showing aggression or anger. More and more people are demonstrating these characteristics than they have ever before. People will blow you away for cutting them off in traffic.
12. People will be despisers of those that are good! When you are condemned for being a Christian, in the United States of America, then evil has come to despise those that are good. People in and of themselves are not evil, they only have a depraved nature, but they are being used by evil to despise those that love God and who are the called according to His (God's) purpose in Christ Jesus our Lord. We are either serving God or serving Satan. Even when we serve ourselves we are serving the evil one, for he that knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.
13. People will be:
A. Traitors - somebody who behaves in a disloyal or treacherous manner
B. Heady - impetuous: impulsive and rash in behavior
C. High-minded - To inflate ones-self with self conceit, to be lifted up with pride.
14. People will be lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God! There has not been any other time in these past two thousand years, since this book of Timothy has been written, that people love their pleasures more than God. When people believe that the wealth that they have was achieved by their own hand and begin to indulge in the earthly pleasures that Satan has in place for us to partake of, then pleasure becomes first in our life. We may say that we deserve a vacation and then spend $8,000.00 on a partial world tour to partake of the pleasures of the world. The love of God is where your heart is. If we truly love God we would use the money given to us more wisely toward the work of the Lord. There are more people at a football game on Saturday than there is in Church. People are lovers of pleasure, more than lovers of God.
15. People have a form of godliness but they deny the power of God! "We are Christians, we love the Lord" while we are at church! but during the week we deny Gods power. We say we love the Lord but we do not pray, we deny the power of God. We say that we want everyone to know Jesus as their Savior but our next door neighbor does not even know that you are a Christian, we deny the power of God. When we declare to all those around us that we love the Lord our God and we do not support the great commission that Christ gave us, and that is to go into all the world, support missions, support to local church and support the needy and we have in our power to do so, we deny the power of God. What power are you neglecting in your life? Do you only have a form of godliness or are you demonstrating the power of God in all that you do?
16. Then this section ends with: "From such turn away." We are to turn form all of these things that are listed. The Bible tells us not to be partakers of other peoples sins. "He that knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin." The people that are found classified with these listed are those that are "ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth".
From such, turn away!
17. The Christian commission given in 2 Timothy 3:15 - 4:5 tells us how not to be found in the company of the people that are listed above and that is:
A. From a child you have known the Holy scriptures. They will make you wise unto salvation. (Proverbs 22:6 "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.")
B. All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for,
1. Doctrine - Teachings of God ( Law, health, charity, benevolence )
2. Reproof - Show the error of a way-ward persons lifestyle
3. Correction - To whom the Lord loves he chastens ( correction, spanking, beating, etc.)
4. Instruction in righteousness - Thy word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against thee.
C. That the man of God might be perfect.
D. Why? That we might be Throughly furnished unto all good works.
E. Preach the Word of God.
F. Be instant in season and out of season ( be ready for anything that the evil one will place in your path.
G. Reprove, rebuke, and exhort!
H. How? With all longsuffering and doctrine.
I. Do the work of an evangelist.
J. Make full-proof your ministry.
18. Because, the time will come when people will not endure sound doctrine. They will, after their own lusts, go after teachers that make them happy. They will turn from the truth unto fables!
19. Endure afflictions because all that will live godly shall suffer persecution.
20. This know that evil people and those that would be called seducers shall become worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. These shall be known unto those that are found to be righteous by God.
21. If a person therefore purge himself from these he shall be a vessel unto honor, sanctified and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.
22. Perilous times are coming!
23. Therefore be ye also ready, for in such an hour as ye think not, the son of man cometh.
Please pray for us and the ministry to the Chinese. We are building relationships. We do have needs and God is faithful to supply them as we need them. Would you please become a part of this outreach to the Chinese people. We need immediately, funds for bilingual (English/Chinese) Bibles for our Bible studies.
We have been here in Atlanta for a year now. That should say much about what God is doing in Atlanta. Many things has begun to increase the kingdom of God. Maybe you would want to be a part of the next thing that is happening here. Evil does not want good to triumph. Most of the time we feel like the Apostle Paul as he went through so many persecutions and trials. If we had 200 people that would sacrifice just $10.00 per month we could do a lot more.
Printing is expensive. We have translated materials that is just waiting for faithful people like yourself to fulfill that need. At the present we print off from our computer just the materials that we need from day to day but there are times that we have to wait because we are out of ink. Also the time taken to patch the computers that we have had for years, takes away from precious time that could be used for Gods work. Please pray about what God would have you to do.
I will tell you that God could use your $10.00 in many other places, but the work must go on regardless. Our work is not the only work that God could use your help with. Below are some other ministries that I know are working long hours for the Lord. They are:
1. CELESC ( Childvirtues ) (Media Virtues ) "Us" in Atlanta reaching the un-churched Chinese through English classes, fellowships, video's concerning life's questions and Bible studies. Printing excerpts from Nancy's translations from special texts that relate to the Chinese.
2. 3ABN 24 hours per day seven days per week satellite television programming literally around the world. Reaching million's of people with Christian programming. Be apart of this world-wide mission outreach to the lost. High Speed modems only view 3ABN programming of special clips!
3. Frontier Missions - $10.00 per month, to build a church a month, somewhere in the world.
4. Amazing Facts - Pastor Doug Bachelor, newest project is a month long meeting in Africa, seen on 3ABN, reaching thousands with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
5. The Carter Report - Pastor John Carter, reaching thousands of Russians every year with the Gospel of Jesus Christ with his seminars linking archeology to the Bible.
6. The Quiet Hour - Reaching thousands of people by Radio daily, primarily children.
7. It is Written - Pastor Mark Finley, reaching millions of people around the world with their programming on TV, Radio, Tape and church seminars.
8. The Voice of Prophecy - Lonnie Melashenko, reaching millions of people around the world with their programming on TV, Radio, Tape and church seminars.
9. Life Talk Radio - Reaching thousands of people by Radio daily, primarily those that are having life's difficulties to deal with. Call in talk shows with veteran Pastors as the hosts of these programs.
10. Chinese Ministries International - Sending books, translated into Chinese, to those that have need of them. Concentrating on the many scalars within the universities of China.
11. Many other ministries could be listed but you could pray and ask God what to do with just $10.00 per month for just one ministry or invest in several ministries. I do know that God would have you to trust him to bless your gift to him or you might decide to buy a pizza instead. The pizza would taste good and would be gone within 10 minutes and no other thought would enter you mind about it, but it won't put souls in heaven. Which do you think is worth more to God! Also in light of the scripture we presented about the end-time marks of people that fills their own lusts, we must needs increase the kingdom of God. Maybe you could spend $100.00 this month and send all of these listed ministries, $10.00 maybe you could send $200, or $500 or even $1000.00. Would you commit to sharing God's word with those that do not know God. Please read what God can do with a blessed sacrifice from everyone.
